Course aims


  This is a summary of the main aims of the course. After following this course you will be able to:
Understand the information seeking process and its role in research
Develop a search strategy for your research area(s)
Conduct subject searches and use other search tactics
Evaluate and select information
Manage your reference collection
Present material in thesis format
Use traditional library sources
Use on-line databases and CD-ROM databases
Use the WWW for engineering information
Understand and evaluate the range of primary engineering sources available to you
Access these sources
  Teaching aims for each module are given at the beginning of the module. Specific learning objectives for each unit are found at the beginning of the unit.
